Ginger applesauce waffles

Your waffle iron can whip up some delicious waffles, and you can dress them up in fantastic ways.

  • Yield: Makes 7-9 waffles
  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cook time: 10 minutes

Breakfast is served! These delicious waffles are a great breakfast or brunch recipe, but also perfect if you happen to have some extra applesauce around the house.


  • 2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Powdered sugar
  • Crushed almonds


Mix all of the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

In a separate bowl, mix together all wet ingredients.

Slowly work the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, careful to not over mix. Add extra milk if needed.

Cook the waffles per your waffle iron's instructions.

Top waffles with powdered sugar and crushed almonds.
