Chili cheese popcorn

Put a little flavor in your Netflix night.

  • Cook time: 5 minutes

As the days get colder, it is the perfect time to curl up to a movie. Here is a delicious popcorn recipe for doing just that. Easy to make and free from all the chemicals in microwave popcorn.


  • 1/4 cup popcorn kernels
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/3 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar


In a large Dutch oven, melt the butter. Add the salt and popcorn kernels, cover and turn the heat up to high. Shake the kernels every 30 seconds so they do not burn. Shake more frequently once popcorn starts to pop. Cook until popcorn popping is greatly slowed.

Remove Dutch oven from stove top.

Whisk together the cheese, chili powder, and sugar. Sprinkle 3/4 of the mixture onto the popcorn, cover and shake to fully coat the popcorn. Sprinkle remaining topping on top.
