There’s something about fresh homemade ice cream that takes the cool treat to a whole new level. This recipe gives you even more. There’s the instant gratification – no freezing needed – and the glorious knowledge that you’re enjoying a truly healthful dessert. There’s no sugar, no cream, no stabilizers – nothing but pure fruit. This is the type of dessert you can make for all your friends – the vegans, the raw foodies, the ones who are allergic to nuts – you name it, they can eat it!

Once you get hooked on the banana ice cream trend you’ll be throwing in all sorts of goodies with your frozen bananas. This post shows you a few more fun ways to enjoy banana ice cream using papaya, coconut, mint leaves and other wonderful fruits.

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas, cut in half and frozen
  • 8 ounces frozen black cherries

Directions

Place frozen bananas and black cherries in a high-powered food processor.

Process until fruit is completely pulverized. Continue processing until mixture becomes creamy and smooth.

You may need to scrape around the side of the bowl several times to ensure mixture is thoroughly processed.

Serve immediately.
