Avocado salad

We are all about avos here at the Israeli Kitchen, and this salad is an outstanding way to use them.

If you are like me, and looking for an excuse to eat more avocados ... then here you go! This salad is a great side to almost any summer meal. Perfect for your Labor Day BBQ, yes?


  • 2 ripe but firm avocados
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 6 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Cut the red onion half into chunks by cutting it into quarters.

Halve the cherry tomatoes. Here is a great how to video on how to slice a bunch of tomatoes at once.

Add the tomatoes, onion, olive oil, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Mix until everything is coated with the oil.

Slice the avocados in to chunks. Here's how to safely pit and slice an avocado.

Add the avocado to the mixing bowl. Fold it in carefully as to coat the avocado with oil but not to make it mushy.

Chill and serve.
