It's pizza that'll make you look like a gourmet. And you don't even have to order takeout.

Here's a delicious fall pizza recipe that's simple to make. It's tart, savory and a little sweet. Not only is it perfect for dinner, it also makes a great appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 small granny smith apple
  • 1/2 cup arugula
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
  • Olive oil
  • Pizza dough

Directions

Wash and dry the granny smith apple. Then slice it in half, lengthwise. Using a mandolin, slice the apple into very thin slices.

Roll out the pizza dough to desired thickness. By the way, making your own dough is pretty easy, and in my opinion, much tastier! Here is a great simple pizza dough recipe.

Brush the dough with olive oil.

Cover the dough with the apple slices then top with mozzarella cheese.

Bake the pizza on a parchment-lined baking sheet at the highest temperature your oven will go for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Remove the pizza from the oven and top with fresh arugula.
