No-bake Mother’s Day pie ideas for kitchen novices
All the flavors blended into Mom's favorite desserts, without the frustration, heat and long wait.
So you’re not too keen in the kitchen, but you really want to do something special for the woman who gave you life. We've got you covered! Take your pick from our easy Israeli Kitchen ideas for whipping up a memorable Mother’s Day dessert that requires no baking, little mess and even less time.
No-bake mini lime cream pies
Key limes are hard to find, and most recipes call for spending about half a day in the kitchen. Enter Israeli Kitchen chef Sarah Berkowitz, with a quick and easy way to whip up amazing lime cream pies. And no, we’re not calling them key lime pies because they don’t have key limes in them. But if you want to go searching for key limes, and squeezing and zesting all those tiny fruits, by all means – change the name!
You’ll want to buy a full bag with about 10 limes for this recipe, which will give you a few extras to use as garnish – and maybe even your mom's favorite cocktail to go with your pie! Here's our recipe.
No-bake Meyer lemon raspberry cream pie
A sweeter cousin to the common lemon, the Meyer lemon is one of Berkowitz's favorite citrus fruits – all the zing and tartness of lemons, and just a little bit of mandarin orange essence.
This super easy no-bake lemon cream pie is out of this world delicious, combining tart raspberries with sweet-tart meyer lemon cream. And yes, it can truly be made in 15 minutes or less – perfect prep time for folks who are traveling out of town to see Mom. On your mark, get set, go! Here's our recipe.
Chocolate peanut butter mousse pie
Having a daughter with nut allergies, Berkowitz doesn't get to do a whole lot of baking with peanut butter. But the rest of the family really enjoys peanut butter. So when she found a recipe for no-bake pie, she adapted it to suit her tastes and went to town. Happy Mother's Day indeed!
For this one, Berkowitz didn't just double the recipe – she tripled it. And there’s only one single slice sitting in the fridge that will not be there for long. This easy-to-make pie does not look easy, nor taste easy. But it is! Simply put, it’s gorgeous, decadent, light, chocolatey, peanut buttery and a perfect dessert. Here's our recipe.
No-bake mochaccino cream pie
There’s no stopping Berkowitz when she finds a healthier way to whip up decadent baked goods, and if she doesn't have to turn on the oven, even better! This no-bake mochaccino cream pie is absolutely delicious. It's creamy, chocolatey, full of her Mom's favorite flavor – coffee – and of course, made with wholesome ingredients.
But careful who you tell – when she disclosed to her (not-so-health-conscious) guests that the rich chocolate pie they were devouring was made with avocado and banana, their reaction made her laugh so hard she cried. And she learned my lesson – some secrets are better kept to herself, or shared only with those who would appreciate knowing their chocolate is loaded with healthy fruits! Here's our recipe.
No-bake white chocolate strawberry pie
Nothing – yes, we said nothing – says "Love you Mom!" like strawberries and chocolate. Sweet berries, a creamy white chocolate filling and chocolate drizzle. Have fun with the topping – choose from strawberries, blueberries and/or raspberries to create your own fruity masterpiece, and then drizzle away with more melted chocolate. This is one of those desserts that’ll make you look like a whiz, and the best part is, no cooking or baking needed! Here's our recipe.
