1. 'Under the Boardwalk' by The Drifters
Recorded in the 1960s, this song has been a beachtime staple for half a century. Originally performed by The Drifters, "Under the Boardwalk" has been covered by numerous artists including John Mellencamp, Bette Midler, the Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones. 2. 'Surfin USA' by the Beach Boys
Another beach hit from the 1960s, this was the No. 2 song of 1963. As part of the Beach Boys' "Surfin' USA" album, this upbeat tune was just meant for a beach playlist. This classic American rock band has a series of hits that are perfect for hitting the sand.
3. 'Go to the River' by Yael Naim
Take a break from the beach and head to the river with Israeli singer-songwriter Yael Naim. Known for her Billboard hit "New Soul," Naim’s soothing voice will reassure you with this song – “When you’re feeling sad, go to the river.” The water will solve all of your problems!
4. 'Sunshine' by Jonathan Edwards

5. 'Walking on Sunshine' by Katrina and the Waves

This song is one of Will Smith’s earliest hits – as part of the hip-hop Philadelphia duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. It was released in 1991, and reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It perfectly describes life in the summertime – hot weather, barbecues and hanging out with your friends.
7. "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield
British singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield landed her most popular single with this hit. This bright summer song is about escaping from everyday troubles with your “pocketful of sunshine.” It makes you want to forget about your day job and go outside to soak up the sun!
