The work of world's best designers and artists may soon be at your fingertips.

The golden age of websites may soon be upon us. Wix, an Israel-based website development company, just acquired DeviantArt, a massive US-based artist community that produces everything from graphic design to illustrations to fan art.

I've been watching DeviantArt for a decade. The artists are, of course, ridiculously talented; some of the best artists of the Internet Age must be on there. Maybe all of them.

“Over its 16-year history, DeviantArt has built an impressive online community that is incredibly loyal, highly engaged and regularly produces stunning art and design,” said Israeli entrepreneur Avishai Abrahami, Wix's CEO. “The DeviantArt community is talented and robust and hungry for additional product expertise. We understand their passion, share their creative vision and are excited to offer the power of the Wix platform to their millions of artists.”

Now that Wix is joining forces with this artistic pillar, the collaboration potential is obvious: the best artists of the Internet Age might all of a sudden start designing art for websites. So when you build your website using Wix, you might soon have some great design and art at your fingertips.

“We founded DeviantArt to enable the creative spirit in everyone, creating a platform dedicated to the vision and talent of the community which could be shared with the world,” said Angelo Sotira, DeviantArt's CEO. “This combined effort with Wix creates new opportunities for innovation never before seen on the Internet."
