Is this the title for 'Star Wars Episode VIII'?

Disney may have just accidentally leaked the name.

With "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" arriving in theaters this week, die-hard fans are already clamoring for details on the next installment of the storied film franchise.

Known for the time being simply as "Episode VIII," the movie is set to be released in theaters exactly a year after "Rogue One" – on Dec. 15, 2017. This new installment is being helmed by American director Rian Johnson and his longtime friend Ram Bergman, an Israeli producer. And while there are lots of details that have leaked up until now (for example, we'll see the return of Yoda and a certain Ewok), the name of the film has remained a mystery. That is, until now. Maybe.

Yes, it’s possible Disney might have just leaked the name of "Episode VIII." The company just trademarked a massive list of about 2,000 words, consisting of clothing, toys and other items related to future Star Wars endeavors (including Christmas ornaments). Among them was this phrase: “Star Wars: Forces of Destiny." Many believe that will be the official title of the next installment.

It also may not be. It's important to note that the "Star Wars" universe is vast and wide-spanning, including movies, theme parks and multiple virtual realty experiences. Or perhaps "Forces of Destiny" refers to an upcoming book that will be added to the hundreds already in circulation.

We might find out the definitive answer later this week when "Rogue One" premieres. Many assume that theatergoers will be treated to a short teaser trailer for "Episode VIII" at the beginning of the screening. Who knows? Either way, our money is betting it will probably start with the familiar text crawling up the screen: "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."
