Mentalist predicts the passing of Mary Tyler Moore
Oz Pearlman stunned the anchors of the 'Today' show with a note written more than a week ago.
For the most part, the Jan. 19 episode of the "Today" show was just like any other. Not surprisingly, Israeli-born mentalist Oz Pearlman, a finalist on "America's Got Talent" and a frequent guest on talk shows, was there. But what he did next was a little out of the ordinary. He wrote down a few predictions and stuffed them into an envelope. It was sealed multiple ways and put into a vault on the "Today" show set.
You can see what happened in the clip below:
For the past week, the vault has been kept away from Pearlman at the NBC studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza under the watchful eye of one of the show's producers. The 34-year-old magician returned to the set yesterday to show everyone what he had written down on the paper inside the envelope.
After revealing a few surprises for the show's anchors, the bottom of the paper read this: "On a somber note, tragedies tend to strike in threes. With the recent loss of Carrie Fisher and [her] mother Debbie Reynolds, we will also mourn the loss of a beloved and truly iconic female TV actress." Then came the big reveal: There were the initials "MTM" for Mary Tyler Moore.
"That's wild," said a stunned Al Roker. "Wow, you're freaking me out."

While there, Pearlman also predicted that the New England Patriots will "win big" on Super Bowl Sunday. Time will tell if he is correct with that prediction as well.
